Vertiv Introduces Single-Phase Lithium-Ion UPS Line

Vertiv Edge Lithium-Ion high-efficiency single-phase UPS systems with power ratings from 1500 to 3000 VA are available in the EMEA region.

With lower maintenance requirements, lithium-ion batteries can be used where IT support is limited. Compared to valve-regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries, lithium-ion batteries last up to 3 times longer, reducing the total cost of ownership (TCO). They operate more efficiently at higher temperatures, are smaller and lighter in size, and provide longer runtimes than VRLA batteries used in similar-power UPS systems. The Vertiv Edge family of lithium-ion UPS systems provides up to 10 minutes of backup power at full load versus 4-5 minutes for standard VRLA UPS systems.

The UPS is suitable for edge computing nodes and applications in industries such as healthcare, banking, education, retail and government. The solution comes with a standard five-year warranty on electronics and battery. The system can be integrated into the Vertiv VR Rack, providing a standardized IT infrastructure solution that can be easily deployed across multiple edge computing sites.

Vertiv Edge Li-ion UPS products are compatible with Vertiv Power Insight software, which is available for free download from the manufacturer's website. Vertiv Power Insight allows you to monitor up to 100 rack power distribution units (rPDUs) and UPS systems with protection for individual and virtual servers during power outages. The updated Vertiv Power Insight solution includes a VMware vCenter plug-in for optimized power management and availability.
